Inked

Those of you who already have a tattoo would understand when I say that: GETTING INKED IS ADDICTIVE.

When I look at my tattoos, I realize how much I have changed and matured. I think that tattoos are like an album of memories that you decide to keep on your skin forever. In fact, each tattoo that I have on me reminds me of a certain period in my life.

Below, I’ll be sharing with you for the first time ever the meanings of each of my 4 tattoos.

I actually had my first tattoo when I was just 17 years old: Tinkerbelle on my left wrist. To be honest with you, it’s the only tattoo that I regret doing. I was too young, too impulsive, and too childish.

I did it because Peter-Pan was one of my favorite movies when I was younger (lame, right?). This is why I want to take the chance to tell all of my young readers NOT toget inked before they’re old enough. TRUST ME, you’re going to regret it.

The second tattoo is a heart on my right wrist. There are two things that I love about this tattoo: First of all, it reminds me of the first month that George and I started dating. Second, I drew it myself. So basically it represents the happiest phase of my life. I think this justifies why I chose to draw a Heart!

My third tattoo is a gun on my right hip. I did it in Paris 2 years ago. I know it’s contradictory to the Heart tattoo that I have, but I think that the combination of both is who I am. This gun represents the darker side of me, which not a lot of people know of. I give the impression that I’m this innocent, calm girl. Yes I am, but only to a certain extent (haha).

Lastly, my neck tattoo that I got last week is what represents my state of mind right now. It’s a straight line drawing my neck to the beginning of my spine. This line represents everything that I believe in: Simplicity, minimalism, and effortlessness; be it in make up, fashion or lifestyle.

Those of you who know me from Instagram, have probably realized that even though the trend in the Middle East among bloggers is to portray a more “sophisticated” style, I have always insisted on sticking to a simple, and minimalistic fashion identity.

Even in my daily life, I try to simplify things and not complicate them. After all, it’s a happier way of living isn’t it ?
