Let’s Hit The Slopes

Hey Ski Lovers, this one is for you! If you have the opportunity to take a week off this winter and escape, I have the perfect places in mind! Whether you’re an art lover, a family person, a crazy soul, or a socialite you will find below the most suitable ski destinations for you. I hope you enjoy this quick ride with me!

Art Lovers: Aspen, Colorado

Contemporary art has finally arrived to the mountain resorts! Art collectors have targeted this location and people are loving it! Last year, the Aspen Museum moved to an astonishing new location that was designed by the renowned architect Shigeru Ban. Plus, even when you’re on the slopes you will be accompanied by art, since the ski lift tickets are designed each season by a different artist!

Fashionistas: Gstaad

Fashionistas, hold tight! Gstaad in Switzerland is one of the most upscale and fashion-oriented resorts in the world! You will be sure to come across some famous guests, as well as the most stylish crowd in the world, especially in February. If you’re looking for something intimate and traditional, make sure you stay at The Olden Hotel. However, if you’re searching for something glamorous Gstaad Palace is your ideal choice! And guys make sure not to miss the restaurant at the Arc-en-ciel hotel where you can make your own pizza!

Easily Accessible & Friendly: Valmorel

Valmorel, located in the French Savoie is just 1 hour and 45 minutes away from Geneva’s airport. It is centered around a purpose-built village, but with the authentic features of a French mountain. Valmorel is also entertaining for non-skiers! Between the amazing snow-shoe walks through the forest, the luxury massages and the heli-skiing to Italy, they won’t feel bored at all! Make sure to try the Ski Roc, which serves the usual Savoyard dishes.

Adventurous Souls: Nagano (My favorite!)

Now, I saved the best for the last! At just 90 minutes away from Tokyo, you’re in Gala Yuzawa, Japan where you have the most beautiful mountains. It is relatively calmer then the European resorts, and the best time to be there is between late December and March. They are also known for their hot-spring baths… as well as … wait for it: the adorable ski monkeys in Jigokudani monkey park! Heaven on earth!

So hurry up guys! You still have 3 months ahead of you to organize this trip, and if it’s too late, keep these destinations in mind for next winter!
